Wildflowers
at Work
As a recovering
perfectionist-workaholic, I am all too familiar with stress. Thanks
to my need to fine tune things right up to the 11th hour so they
are perfect, I have been known to lose my cool and affect
everyone around me. Pressing the limits of my superwoman, multi-tasking
ability by juggling too many projects at once, I have gone without
food, water, bathroom breaks –even breathing—for too
long and too often. My reward for trying to exceed everyone’s
expectations--and especially my own—has been rock solid shoulder
and neck muscles. I am definitely ready for a change.
With the coming of Revolutionary Agreements,
I decided to work differently. Rather than Making It Happen,
for which I have a great track record, I would let it unfold
organically (whatever that meant). Wouldn’t it be more fun to discover that I could
manifest in an entirely different way from my tried-and-proven “nose-to-the-grindstone” method?
My shoulders muscles are saying “Yes!”
I wrote a new intention
statement: Revolutionary Agreements is
spreading like wildflowers. I have planted the seeds in fertile
soil and they are sprouting everywhere! As I speak this
intention, I can almost feel the seedlings bursting through the
soil (one day I could swear I heard it!), I envision
their delicate shoots spreading tiny leaves to catch the dew
and the life-giving warmth of the sun, and then growing strong
and sturdy, ready to boldly display their magnificent flowers.
The end of my intention
statement goes like this: People who read Revolutionary Agreements
are inspired to share the Agreements with others by doing what
they love most: public speaking, training, facilitating workshops,
coaching, writing, dancing, singing… I am but one joyful
steward of these Agreements. Like wildflowers, spokespersons
for the Agreements are popping up everywhere, and the Agreements
are spreading joyfully through fertile fields. This is a wholly
different approach to manifestation than any I’ve experienced
before. I think I like it!
Thanks to you, this vision is becoming reality.Within
days after the wildflower vision came to me, I began witnessing
its power. I received a beautiful card from a friend I hadn’t
seen in years; she wrote that while attending a course in Illinois,
participants from two other states “had copies of your
book that they shared with me!” I got an email from another
friend saying she was giving a presentation on the Agreements
to 30-40 people in Houston; would I send her some bookmarks?
Another in North Carolina shared that she’d like to start
a workshop on the Agreements in the fall. The second Colorado Revolutionary
Agreements study group is being led by people who love
to facilitate; another starts Sept. 1 in California. An internal
corporate coach is assigning book chapters to her clients.
A woman in India is sharing it with her company. And just a
few days ago, I had a remarkable “chance” meeting
with another Revolutionary
Agreements steward (see “Magic Afoot” below).
For those of you who are inspired to share the Agreements by
doing what you love to do, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
For those of you who are busily manifesting your own wildflowers,
thank you for casting Revolutionary Agreements seeds by
simply living the Agreements while doing what makes your heart
sing.
I look forward to dancing with you in the fields of blossoming
potential for Peace Within and Peace on Earth.
With gratitude,

“My deepest desire is that you’ll
join me in this Revolution by helping me to create a tidal
wave of powerful, positive and enduring impact on our world.
If this sounds ambitious, remember this: throughout history,
it is individuals, caught up in the impassioned grip of an
idea whose time has come, who have always created the most
lasting, positive impact.”

One of my highest values in a job is working
as part of a team.
I took a job that seemed great, paid well
and used my skills, but I worked totally alone. I rarely saw
my boss let alone anyone else. As time went on I became more
and more uncomfortable yet was not able to face the issue within
myself.
One day my boss
came in and suggested that I seemed unhappy and perhaps the
position was not a fit for me. I was immediately fearful
of losing my job and responded, “No, I AM happy
here.” My boss gently suggested that I take some time
to think about it.
I went home
and reflected on what had happened. My boss was speaking
my truth for me! The next day I called her and said, “You’re absolutely right, I’m not happy
here.” We agreed to end the working relationship and
she appreciated my honesty, raved about how much she enjoyed
working with me and gave me flowers as a going away gift. I
spent two weeks training my replacement and that was my happiest
time there because I was working WITH someone. Now I have a
job working with a team for a common goal and I love it!
I learned that speaking my truth with compassion is not
just telling someone else but acknowledging the truth to myself.

Afoot
Bonnie Brandt
is a former registered nurse, hypnotherapist and psychotherapist.
Today she is an entrepreneur in the wellness industry, taking the
stand that “aging does not equal disease.” mannabon@cox.com
I am a networker building my organization. I have admired
Marian and her writings for several years; her ideas give me
tools for creating freedom and joy in my life. When she wrote Revolutionary
Agreements I knew I must have a copy. I bought the poster
of the Agreements and mounted it on the ceiling above my bed
so that I could see them first thing in the morning and last
thing at night. I even put a photo of Marian on my dream board
because she is someone who is committed to making a difference
and has a wonderful heart connection to those around her.
This morning,
I awoke prepared to take my walk along the ocean as usual.
However, instead of walking at my usual time, a little voice
in my head urged me to first make a couple of business calls
that I had been putting off. This time I listened and completed
the calls. As I went out that same inner voice suggested I
change my normal route and go a different way. Once again I
complied thinking, “OK, why not?“
As I walked along
the path, I noticed a woman coming toward me who seemed vaguely
familiar. As we passed each other recognition dawned and I
turned. “Marian?” I asked. I introduced
myself, indicated where we had met and how much I really appreciated
her book. We were soon gabbing like old friends. She told me
she had forgotten her water bottle and tissues and declared she
would just have to “manifest” them on her walk. My
home was close by so I was able to offer her what she needed,
and while there showed her my unusual placement of the Revolutionary
Agreements poster. She loved the idea so much she asked if she
could lay down on my bed to take a photo of the poster on my
ceiling! We chatted a bit more and I decided to be courageous
and show her my dream board with her photo on it. She laughed
and exclaimed, “I never imagined my picture on someone’s
dream board.”
When she left,
we agreed to keep in touch. I thought about the magic of that
morning and realized the importance of being present, as Marian
talks about in her chapter on “I Agree to Lighten
Up!” Had I not paid attention to that wise, little inner
voice, I would not have met Marian, a Colorado resident, on a cliff
path overlooking the ocean in southern California. What are the
chances of that?
The next day,
I listened carefully as I walked, realizing with awe and delight
that my Source (which I sometimes call God) is actually communicating
with me and desiring to co-create while walking with me DAILY.
I am not alone nor am I separate from my Source. This quiet
frequency is like a radio station I can choose to tune into
anytime. And when I do…magic happens!

Notes
This
issue, we share some of the responses to Marian’s July
message about Pollyanna :
Hi Marian,
Using the link to the Pollyanna story, I read it in
one sitting with tears of joy and amazement flowing over
and over. I went through almost half a roll of toilet paper
blowing my nose. What a wonderful story. I am so GLAD to
have Pollyanna in our world. Thank you for telling me about
her.
Very much love,
Andy Noble, Kapaa, HI
P.S. I will
consider it a great compliment if I am ever accused of
being “Pollyannish."
Dear Marian,
I really like
your story about Pollyanna and agree with your message. I remember working at a previous corporation,
being a positive light, optimistic, etc., and heard through
the grapevine that someone had referred to ME as a Pollyanna. I
remember how hurt I felt and how hard I tried to be more
business-like. Looking back, and being in the now,
I am proud of holding the light and carrying on the work/joy/meaning
of this character, like your courageous and loving father. Thank
you for writing this article. While it would have
been helpful for me to have had it years ago, it is perfect
now!

Light
It is the time of
year when summer is in full bloom. We are as hot as we’re going to get and the fruits and vegetables
are ripening fast. For the past four years I have tried to grow
beefy tomatoes in two different locations; the plants died before
maturity, even though I watered and crooned over them. This year
I tried--for the last time I vowed--to grow them again. I fertilized
the ground a bit more and one plant out of six survived. That plant
produced one tomato. I watched my little tomato ripen, lovingly
picked it and savored it in the best salad I ever ate. Marian’s
message reminds me that in addition to a great vision one must
have fertile ground. It takes time to bring depleted soil to a
place that will accept and nurture tender seeds. This season I
gratefully accept my humble harvest as the beginnings of success
and am confident that with clear vision and fertile ground I will
have a bigger bounty next year. Let abundance flow!

Nature’s
Organic Design– A Spider’s Dance
by
Linda Leary, August 2005
With
broom in hand I hit the porch
My focus was to clean.
Sweep the dust and random
webs
That hung in little
streams.
I watered and swept and pinched old blooms
And
dusted off the chair.
I was backing up to
do the steps
When a web caught
in my hair.
No spider would get the best of me
And I used
the hose to spray.
No remnants of that
tiny web
Would remain to spoil
my day.
Success at last, my porch pristine,
Each flower
in its place.
Nature would not reign
supreme
In this gal’s
ordered space.
The next day came, the air was warm,
The grass
aglow with dew.
I stepped outside and
almost cried,
The web was
built anew!
Anger swelled within my breast,
I grabbed my sweeping
tool.
“This is
war, you spider witch.”
“We’ll
see who is to rule.”
My arm drew back, aimed to strike,
When sunlight
caught the web.
Like a diamond net
it caught the breeze
And softly
flowed and ebbed.
The symmetry was perfection,
The rows were twenty-four.
The beauty drew my
breath away.
I had not seen
before.
Then on the web I saw her move
This master of
design.
She danced her dance along
the strands.
Her castle,
oh so fine.
With perseverance she rebuilt
What I had torn
apart.
Now she sat calm and proud,
It quite undid my
heart.
Ugliness to beauty turned.
My broom fell at my
side.
In some strange way
I felt ashamed,
I thought
to run and hide.
Instead I stood and with new eyes
Took in the
learning here.
Spider Queen, her world
destroyed
Did not succumb
in fear.
With
strength born out of Nature’s best
She did what she must do.
She built a bigger,
better home
And to herself
was true.
My lesson learned, my senses sharp,
I see with
Nature’s eyes.
I find myself
in gratitude
For spider, strong
and wise.
I’ll
leave her there undisturbed
For as
long as she will stay.
I'll sweep my porch
and talk to her.
Til summer
goes away.
